To protect the environment and your health the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment recommends a regular maintenance program for Individual Sewage Disposal Systems that includes inspection every three years and pumping the tank every three to five years based on inspection results.

CS&S Septic System Inspections consist of the following components:

  • Checking the Absorption Field
  • Examining inside the treatment tank
  • Evaluating connections inside the home
  • Comprehensive, Easy to Read Reports
Check the Absorption Field: CS&S inspectors visually inspect the surface area to locate signs of system backups and probe underground, through all available inspection ports, to check drainage levels.
Examine inside the treatment tank: Our inspectors open the tank, examine the inlet and outlet baffles and determine the volume of the treatment tank. The tank is then inspected for cracks, corrosion and leakage. We also check the waste levels inside the treatment tank.
Evaluate septic connections: We check all appliances and associated pipes for proper connections. We also determine whether all waste lines are properly discharging into approved waste systems.
Comprehensive and Easy to Read Reports: Our inspection provides 2 documents: A cover letter stating clearly the overall condition of the septic system and what problems may be present, as well as an independent assessments of the systems three major components. It also provides a detailed report based on NAWT standards evaluating each component.
